A framework for working with ESOL Volunteers
Volunteers make a huge contribution to people learning English. Volunteer ESOL tutors use their skills to teach individuals or groups; support class teachers; help in conversation cafes and many other roles. Volunteers bring enthusiasm and a range of other valuable skills.
With this in mind, volunteer-involving organisations need to ensure that their volunteers have opportunity to develop within their role in supporting language development. Our
Framework for Good Practice in Working with Volunteers in ESOL
aims to aid organisations to reflect on their practice to ensure a positive volunteering experience for learners, volunteers and projects.
