Join the Board

We are currently recruiting for new Directors and a Chair to join our Board. The organisation is undergoing a period of significant growth and we would welcome applications from individuals who would like to support us during this exciting time.
We are particularly interested in hearing from those with skills and experience in one of the following areas:
 
  • HR
  • Legal: in particular relating to employment law, charity law, commercial property
  • Marketing and Social media
  • ESOL at a strategic level
  • Income generation
  • The promotion of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Board Members
 
The Board meets every 6 weeks, with some additional sub-committee meetings to work on specific issues. We ask for a minimum commitment of 1 year and expect board members to be able to commit approximately 5 hours per month.

Board Chair

Time commitment: Estimated 10-15 hours per month to include attendance at board meetings 2 hours every 8 weeks (Saturday mornings); attendance at subgroup meetings once or twice a month (weekday evenings); preparation of agenda and meetings with staff and the Secretary; reasonable email correspondence in-between meetings as requested by the organisation’s needs to make effective decisions. 

Salary: This is a voluntary role, but it has great scope for personal development. Reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed.
