Welcome!

Our Vision

We see Scotland as a place where non-native English speakers have the language skills and confidence to live fulfilling lives.

Our Mission

We provide accessible and relevant ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) learning opportunities for adults, supporting integration, employability and personal development.

We support ESOL practitioners and learners to have their views heard.

We welcome all non-native English speakers, including asylum seekers, economic migrants and members of settled communities.

Glasgow ESOL Forum is a registered SQA centre.

Read our report on Working with Volunteers in ESOL Provision

Glasgow ESOL Forum’s Volunteer Tutor Project have produced a report on Working with Volunteers in ESOL Provision in Scotland 2018.  The report looks at the experience of projects involving volunteers in ESOL delivery across Scotland and makes some suggestions for future, collective development.

It includes volunteer recruitment, induction, policies, support, training and the impact, involving volunteers has on ESOL learners.

The report was compiled using survey responses and comments from a national discussion event for volunteer coordinators, hosted by Glasgow ESOL Forum in March 2018.

We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in sharing ideas and practice so far and invite you to continue the conversation.
